Nothing Big, Really

She turned off the hot water and grabbed the raggy dish towel. She filled her clean cup with the hot tea she just made and walked into the living room. She sat on the plush, comfy couch, enjoying her day off from school. She sipped her tea and wrapped herself with a warm blanket. Of course, once she got comfortable the doorbell rang. She hissed in annoyance and got up to answer it. A snow covered Kelly ran inside before she could open it.
"Rach. Let's order a pizza."
"Come on in, Kell."
Kelly walked upstairs and sat right in Rachel's spot on the couch.
"So Rachel, how's ya feelin' today?"
She let out a sigh and looked at Kelly.
"I'm okay. I'm actually really glad we had a snow day. I really didn't want to see Ben today."
"Why?"
Rachel didn't say anything.
"Rachel, what happened?"
She sipped her tea, and answered,
"I think I'm in love with him, Kelly."
She was in shock. Rachel and Ben had been friends for years, and for news like this to be unveiled was of course going to be a big deal.
"Oh my --- How long?"
Rachel jumped up from the couch feeling uncomfortable, she hadn't told anyone about this before.
"For two years, Kelly!"
She had nothing to say, but right as she opened her mouth to say something, Rachel's doorbell rang again. Before Rachel even got up, Ben ran upstairs into her living room.
"Ben?!"
"Rachel Plum. Can I speak with you."
Rachel looked at Ben, then at Kelly, then outside into the wintery storm.
"O...Okay."
Rachel followed Ben outside, almost falling several times on the ice, but was always caught by Ben's strong arms.
"Rachel," he said while passionately looking into her clear blue eyes.
"Yes, Ben?"
"I have something to tell you."
Could this be it? Rachel thought, Does he like me too?
"I'm moving away, Rachel."
She said nothing. The only sound was the light patting of the snow falling on the ground.
